Touch of Wellness Chiropractic Center

Dr. Karen

Chiropractor / Acupuncturist / Clinic Director

Dr. Karen

Dr. Karen Hannah was born in Maple Ridge, British Columbia, Canada, and spent her early years there before her family relocated to Davenport, Iowa when she was eight. Throughout high school, she spent five years as a student athletic trainer, which inspired her to pursue a pre-medicine path at Western Illinois University in Macomb, IL.

She graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology and minors in Psychology and Chemistry. In 2009, she earned her Doctorate of Chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic, and by the following year, she opened Touch of Wellness Chiropractic in Morton, Illinois.

Since launching her practice, Dr. Karen has expanded her expertise with post-doctorate certifications in Acupuncture and Animal Chiropractic and earned her certification as a Department of Transportation Medical Examiner. In 2021, she co-founded Bushido Billing, a specialized billing company serving chiropractors.

Beyond her clinic walls, Dr. Karen is an active member of her community, serving on the Morton Economic Development Council and as the Merchant Tent Co-Chair for the Morton Pumpkin Festival. She’s also deeply committed to global service—having joined Peak Potential Outreach on seven week-long health mission trips to Fiji, where she helped provide care to thousands in need.

When she’s not adjusting spines or running her businesses, you’ll likely find her traveling, soaking up sunshine by the water, or spending time with her dogs, Hercules & Apollo (frequent office mascots). She also enjoys card games, volleyball, and cheering on her favorite sports teams—the Bears, Cubs, the Ohio State Buckeyes and Vancouver Canucks.

Chiropractor

Dr. Bill Ellis, IX

Indeed, you read that right: Dr. Ellis is the ninth-generation William Ellis! Hailing from Fostoria, a rural town in Northwest Ohio, Dr. Ellis was raised in a tight-knit family alongside a younger sister. He always approached life with an inventive spirit and knew his ambitions would lead him beyond the confines of his hometown.

After graduating from high school with honors in 2001, Dr. Ellis continued his family tradition by enrolling at The Ohio State University for the fall semester of that year. By 2006, he had earned a Bachelor of Education in Exercise Science from the institution. Following his graduation, he worked for two years as a Chiropractic Tech, as well as a Personal and Group Fitness Trainer, at the very office where he had previously interned.

In February 2008, Dr. Ellis relocated to Davenport, Iowa, to pursue his studies at Palmer College of Chiropractic. While the rigors of graduate school, with its late nights and extensive coursework, were initially challenging, Dr. Ellis was resolute in his journey to follow his passion. He was lucky to forge lasting friendships during this period and often found amusement in the friendly collegiate banter with his peers. In addition to his academic pursuits, Dr. Ellis participated in Palmer bowling intramurals and served as an Ambassador for Palmer’s Center for Business Development. After ten trimesters, or just over three years of rigorous study, Dr. Ellis earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in the summer of 2011.

In his downtime, Dr. Ellis indulges in various hobbies. He's an avid sports enthusiast, with a particular fondness for his cherished Buckeyes. He also enjoys strength training, woodworking, and tinkering with electronics.
